Mummy's Birthday card

Well as I had some Gold and Cream left over from the previous card (he he) I thought I'd use it to make mum's card too! I have this thick plastic board with holes in (that is actually used to stick pins in to wrap wire around to shape my wire, which I don't actually use) that I used for the dotted background! As for the heart I used a circle as a template for the top of the heart and I just drew out the rest! used other letters I have as templates to get 'MUM' out of it and added a bow at the top for that little extra! another good little card :)

Golden Anniversary

This card was for my Auntie & Uncle! So teh colour is pretty self explanitory. I had templates of the glasses so I used tehm for this card, I aslo bought an Anniversary stamp kit were I got the words from and the Doves came from a sepertate stamp kit, and of course the adding the ribbon gives it that finishing touch!
Was pleased with this card and was happy it came out alright.

Daddy Daughter Trip at DISNEYLAND! (paris)(courtesy of Betterware)

It all started Thursday 9th September when I flew from Inverness airport to London Gatwick. Dad took me shopping in London to buy a dress for the 'Dress To Impress' evening we were having. I had about 3 hours to find a modest dress and shoes! believe it or not I did ok..... ok in the time sense but probably not ok for dads wallet, ha ha. Then we got to the Premier Inn about 10pm where we stayed the night as we had to leave early (bout 6:30) the next morning to get a coach to catch the Euro Star to Paris.

From the Euro Star we took a coach to the Disney park where a conference for Betterware was being held in the Disney Village. We had a few snacks to munch on but the yummiest thing was the chocolate brownie YUM-MY! When we came out of the conference Mickey and Donald were there for photos, someone didn't want a photo with Mickey they just wanted Donald so I called over to Mickey for a photo!

Then we had a few hours to our selves before Buffalo Bills Wild West Show, so we went and checked into our hotel 'The Sequoia Lodge' and went and did a bit of shopping!

Now for Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show!! (9:30pm) This was so good, it was a dinner and a show with real horses and buffalo's.

So after queing to get in we get free hats with a
colour band around it to tell us what group we're
going to be in. We were in the green group!

When everyone is seated the show begins with Mickey and friends introducing us to Buffalo Bill and the show begins...... (thats not buffalo in the picture below with mickey and co)

While all this is going on we get served our food, so for starters we had a small bowl of chilli, then for mains we had a sausage, ribs, chicken, a small corn on the cob and potatoes and for dessert apple crumble with ice cream. Now I know it doesn't exactly look appealing but they were serving it up in minimum light!

Towards the end of the show they had the cowboy and indians do races for the different coloured teams, of course every team colour won a race but they would have you shouting, bangin the tables and screamin "YEEEHA" throught the entire show oh and cant forget the waving of hats around the air now can we!

So off to bed about 11pm with a plan to be up early in the morning for brakfast and DISNEYLAND!

So we get straight in for breakfast at about 8:30 I know not as early as we were planning but we were very tired! ( betterware had reserved a time for us too for breakfast) Nothing special for breakie just frosties, croissant and a milkshake. Got to the park about 9 apparantly the rides dont open till 10 so we thought we'd start of with sleeping beauty's castle that Ive been waiting to see for so long! I even got to go up inside the castle I was sooo happy and excited!

Then we went to our first 'thrill' ride Space Mountain 2. (that ride was open at about 9:40 so we only qued for like 5 min if that!
My friend Abi said it was soo good and I should deffinatly go on it, luckily she didnt mention it goes upside down (I say luckily now after ive been on the ride) or I wouldnt have gone on it! and as the entire ride was inside a building you couldnt see how it went, it was also complete darkness inside so you couldnt even see what was to come, so it wasnt until I'd already gone upside down on the loop that I'd realised that we had gone upside down and realised it wasnt that bad after all! Although I did come out very dizy afterwards and couldn't walk staright, ha ha! So now im happy I have finally gone on an upside down ride!

We got out about 9:50 and then decided to que for Star Tours which did open at 10, we must have only qued for about 15 min after they opened the ride so we were well on our way to getting the thrill rides done :D!
Dad really enjoyed the Space Mountain ride so we got a fast track ticket to that ride and went on It again! It was very good tho!

We then went to get a fast track ticket for Big Thunder Mountain and qued for about 1 hour to go on 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril' not knowing this ride went upside down also and this time I got scared cause it was all open and I could see where I was going and when!! but it was fine thank goodness! Then off to Big Thunder Mountain where we proabaly qued for about 20/30 min due to the fast track tickets, not upside down this time! lol. after the ride, we went and got something to eat...... well I ate, dad tried a chip and then started feeding them to the birds as they would fight over it, another dinner and a show :) then I went and did some more shopping before I had to get ready for our dress to impress evening!

At about 7:30 we took a very short coach ride to Studio Disney 1 and Cinemagic.
We went into cinemagic first where they incorparated real life into the movie, that was really good, then accros to studio disney 1(also a pic of the top half of the building from the inside) for our dinner where
for starters we had.......

Tomato confit and goat cheese tart,
pesto with basil and pepper coulis.
It was DELICIOUS!

Then for our main course we had Poultry supreme in a herb crust, potato gratin and vegetables (asspargus, carrot, courgette, tomato and a white veg that no one new what it was not even the waitress....... then she came back with a french name for it and we still dont know what it is ha ha)
It was nice and I got full so I couldn't finish eating it but it wasnt as nice as the starter.

and finally for dessert we had Cheesecake with fresh fruits and coulis.
That was lovely but cause I was full I couldn't finish that either!

Then just before we headed back to our hotel at 11:30 (and painful feet for me in the heels I wore) we took one last pic. ok so its kind of hard to see that im copying Mickeys pose as the flash doesn't quite hit him but he's hiding behind the mop thats carrying the buckets (the non gold mop too)

when I get back im not tired so I decided to pack so I could have a longer lie-in in the morning as we didnt have to meet in reception till 9:45.

What a jam packed but amazing weekend I had, and yes I did miss my babies!

chloe's first day at School

even though this is chloes 2nd school uniform she is still starting school, (her 1st uniform was for nursery school at age 3 in england and it was red) Here in Scotland they dont have a uniform for nursery just like they dont do reception and technichly dont start nursery till they're 4.
So chloe is in P1 which stands for 'primary' and not year 1, Year one i believe is secendory school so instead of year 7 in secondry school its year 1, very weird i know.
back to chloe.....
she was very excited about starting p1 and loves school, she has not yet done a full day as they are easing them into the process slowly so she hasn't even had lunch there. she has a big back pack already which she also loves. so thankfully for me chloe is very happy at school, and natalie is now back at nursery without chloe this year and she too is very happy to be back!

happy birthday princess (lauren)

This was for my younger friend lauren who is now 12!
She is the only girl in her fam she has 3 brothers so I thought it would be nice to give her a princess card.
Once again I got this idea out of my mag and did what I needed to to make it how I wanted it, like with the tiara which im quite chuffed about!

smile (red,black and white)

This card was an experimental card, I was just playing around with my stamps, I love how it came out. I also had a little inspiration from a crafter called Dawn Bibby in my magazine.

I ended up giving it to my friend chloe (as she kept her birthday quiet and didnt get a handmade card from me) I made her sister a birthday card so instead of giving chloe a birthday card a month later she had this smile one, and well its not a card exactly so i added a photo stand to the back so she can always remember to smile :)

my gappy daughter

chloe's first baby tooth came out today she was a bit shocked that it had actually happened. she'd been waiting for so long and prob didnt think it would happen and i guess she didnt quite no what to expect. when she had a look in the mirror she started to get upset that there was a blood patch where her tooth had been and got really upset, panicked and cried until i said to go put her tooth in her pixie for the toothfairy tonight so all is good again! well paul has taken all my cash out the house so now i need to go to the shop to get some more :/ other wise we'll have more tears in the morning! and now to wait for the one next to it to come out!

Shoe card

This card is not my ownn idea it came from my mag again, I made it for a friend who loves her high healed shoes. I hav'nt given it to her yet so I dont know what she'll think, hopefully she'll like it.

I did however have to draw out the shoe so hopefully it looks like a decent shoe lol.

pink n black happy birthday

Theses papers my sister in law Janice gave me and I love them but I'm not so keen on the actual card. I was running out of time as to what I could do so this is how it turned out, although I do like how I put the stamps together in the bottom right corner.

Sports Day

The girls really enjoyed their sports day, they'd been looking forward to it for ages and practicing in the back garden! they receieved a sticker after each race they took part in and they loved their certificates and medals they received at the end. They even held a toddler race that daniel took part in and won he he.

loch ness

When our friends came to visit us we of course went and did a tourist thing! The Loch Ness! It was lovely. We all went on a boat ride on a section of the loch. The screen they had on the boat showed you where abouts you were on the boat and showed how deep it went, (this wasnt the deepest it went, I think it was around 1200 and something ft deep where we were) it would also show any major activity that might be going on i.e the loch ness monster, but nothing happened for us so the mystery still remains!
The kids enjoyed every minute of it!

Nintendo DS

yes thats right a Nintendo DS card! (I should probably call it Nintendo DS 'extra' lite, lol) I loved making this card for my cousin zachary who turned 8 and is really into STAR WARS. This was a really good challenge for me! I used glossy photo paper for the outside I even did the measurements from our ds to do the markings at the top and traced/embossed the 2 squares. as for the inside of the card again I did all the measurments to get the screen and buttons in the right place. I printed off a couple of star wars pics for "the game" and then used the OHP paper stuff to give it the screen look!
zachary loved this card (I was told) and uses it as a bookmark in his scriptures lol

(unfortunatly again the pictures are a bit fuzzy and its hard to see the detail of some of the buttons, it is all there tho)

its a hippo!

My little cousin Jonas was 4 in the april and unfortunatly I dont have many boy things in my craft supplies so this card I made from scratch I believe its called paper piecing, so I put the hippo together and cut and decorated my lilly pads. I just hope he didn't think it was a girly card cause I added the flower, but I was glad how I was able to put this card together and I hope he liked it too.

happy birthday (using team work)

now this card paul pretty much made for you laura (with a little help from me, he he) he liked my stamps too, that he had to make a card! I dont remember what I helped him on but its sort of a teamwork card.

another mothers day card

Now this one I made for my mum! well actually this is the 2nd one I made for her, the 1st got deleayed in the post but at the time we thought it got lost, so this one I still have. (I think the 1st was better than this one). she's always in the kitchen, she doesn't wear her apron any more and she doesnt do as much baking as I remember (maybe as a little girl it seemed alot )

again this one came from my magazine and as soon as I saw it I had to make it for her!

I enjoyed making the whisk on the 1st card, here on the 2nd I started to get annoyed it wasnt going as well or as easy. oh and this one has been squashed a bit in my draw so the pocket isnt as smooth as it should be.

a mothers day card

I made this for my mother in law for mothers day. Again this was one I got out my magazine and I used Laura Ashley sticky ribbon that came free with it, he he. I thought this was her kind of style of card and she seemed to really like it so a win win!

although I was supposed to put some green dots on the stems which I think I did put on after I took the picture then she walked throught the door so I couldnt update the picture, nevermind.

chinese happy birthday

I think I made this for you Janice :) I'd gone and bought some new chinese stamps so here is the first card I made using them.
I embossed the image and then was able to use sharpie pens to colour the girl in, I really like the solid colour they give.
I even like the selection of flowers I used to go with it.
Its not one of my favorite cards but I do like it.

over the hill is this way

he he! I love this card. deciding what to do for my dad on his birthday cards is real tricky, he doesnt have any hobbies (unless hes taken up new ones that I dont know about) but this card suited him well I thought, I love how cheeky it is.

It was a good challenge for me and I really enjoyed making it and I was so happy when I remembered I had the arrow paper to use for the backgound too! of course it is was hard to get the road to look as if its 'over the hill' but never mind, you get the idea.
(unfortunatly I could'nt get the camera to focus properly but you can still see how it is)

pretty dress

I like this card cause it is pretty, I really like the dress. of course I did take the idea out of my craft magazine so I cant take all the credit, he he.

im back!

Ive been away for about 6 months due to terrible internet, it was not strong enough to support pictures and things. so now i have decent internet and have a lot to catch up on so here we go..........
