Practicing Birthday Cakes

My friend wanted to give me the chance of practising cakes
so she asked me to make her kids birthday cakes!
one 14 year old wanted a union jack.
its all chocolate on the inside!

her other 14 year old (yes twins) wanted a chocolate galore cake
this was my favourite to do maybe cause there was no expectations
3 layers of chocolate sponge with butter cream
with dairy milk icing on top
and as you can see chocolate fingers and buttons around the outside
and flake on top

then her 16 year old wanted the little character from the edf energy adverts

I'm still learning to work with regal icing so this cake isn't covered up as much as I'd like but like I said these are practice cakes and like everything else I don't get much time with my cake baking.
This cake is 6 and a bit layers- was kinda fun to make.
also chocolate!

all 3 cakes were very well received and thoroughly enjoyed!

My Baby is one!

OK so I didn't make this one myself but we all still enjoyed it!

lots of pressie's for the birthday girl
there's even a zebra hiding behind all those presents!

here's what we bought with her birthday pennies
"peepo mummy"

One of Melissa's presents was a pushchair
which she absolutely adores!
" I love my pushchair mummy"

and off she ventures into her second year..........

CAKES!!!!!

So unfortunately card making (and much to my annoyance) scrapbooking have gone on hold for now :(
I have however taken to baking (which really may not be too good for my waist line :/ ) but they definitely taste good!
ones with lots of sweets on them! Then there's my personal favourite......

                                                         CHOCOLATE!!!!!

MMMMMMMM chocolate biscuits!

Last night daddy wouldn't share his biscuits with me but lucky for me today he's left them on the floor and I found them on my travels!
First ill try one then maybe ill have another and another untill no more are left!!! That will teach him not to share with me!!

'this biscuit is really yummy, better than those rusks mummy keeps giving me. Speaking of which where is mummy?......'
......"oh hello mummy! It wasn't me, don't tell daddy!
"all gone now mummy! Don't worry about the mess
I'll come back to the crumbs later"

Natalie at school

O.K so natalie started school 3 months ago, and she's really enjoying it!
She has Chloe's teacher from last year and even tho Chloe and Natalie have previously shared a year at nursery together, the following year they were apart. So now Natalie loves that she's in the same "big" school as Chloe. They love seeing each other in the dinner hall and even tho they could play with each other in the playground they dont, they still play with their own friends which is nice.

So as you can see Natalie's hair is nice and tidy, that's how I like it, she has lots of whispy bits that can be hard to control.
Chloe has a side fringe most of the time but occasionally I will tie hers back.
So on one particular day I thought I'dd try Nat with a side fringe and the result was not good :(

As you can see the quality of the picture is not great that's because it is the local newspaper and the side fringe does not work on her. I was not happy and of all the days! The worst thing is I knew a photographer was coming that day and even wrote it in my diary, I just hadn't looked in there recently! Typical!

She was in the paper because they were taking pictures of the new p1's starting school in the area, and her school was one of them.

Lissie's Little Life

Just the right size don't ya think?!

So far ......

She went on a walk with her big brother,
he certainly loved it.

Had cuddles with her Eeyore,

Tried out her new chair bouncer, which has a really good bouncy vibrator which sends her to sleep nicely.......

Look hows she's grown.

Can't forget about her toys either!

Oh and she's tried her luck at taking over the remote control!

what else............

oh and of course sleeping.........

Sleeping.....
Is shopping boring or hard work lissie?

More sleeping

and a bit of chillin!

"not too bad this chair."

2 of my favorite times in lissie's 2 months of life is when Mum and Kels came for a week........

(Mum was either a bit camera shy or just too busy helping me around the house when pics were being taken) :)

Then there was her naming & blessing where Dad, Mum, Leah, Emmie-Rae and Kels came :D
Her blessing dress
The 2 youngest in our little family, 8 months difference.

Think mum had lissie

We went to the Loch Ness
(F.Y.I that's 'Jess' in the background the Loch Ness' cousin)

The Scottish Border

and the border (they were only here for a day & a half)

Being in 2 places at once.... Yeah!!

Don't Know why Lissie is unhappy :(

                    Gotta love my sisters

It was Horrible to say good bye :(
